Photos from Rome. The Colossuem is one of the biggest attractions in Rome and like good tourists we had to check it out. It's.....okay. Slightly underwhelming, even. I think everyone wants it to look like it does in the film Gladiator, when in reality it's a crumbling old arena. Circus Maximus is nearby too, but in hindsight that's not worth visiting, it's majorly underwhelming. On the positive side Trevi Fountain is really cool and we ate good food in Rome. We attempted to visit the Vatican but we weren't allowed to enter because we were dressed inappropriately, bearing in mind it was about 40 degrees at the time you'd think they could make some allowances for summer attire.
Photos from Florence, Italy. I didn't get a great deal from Florence, I thought Rome and especially Venice were more interesting and fun places to spend time. We did stay in a great apartment though.

I'm currently in Rome and should hopefully be off to Greece in a few days, but here are the photos from Venice where we were earlier this week. It is a very beautiful city and I think it would be great to visit in winter, those narrow lanes and the maze of canals would add a real sense of mystery to the atmosphere.
